Shujaa, have secured their place in the much-anticipated HSBC Sevens Madrid playoff slated for June.
This follows a stellar performance at the final leg of the World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series in Munich, Germany.
Shujaa dominated Pool C, showcasing their unwavering determination to return to the top tier of Sevens Rugby.
They opened their campaign with a convincing 28-12 victory over Japan, followed by a resounding 33-5 win against Portugal.
Shujaa beat Chile 17-12 in the final group-stag match. The hard-fought win secured them the top spot in the pool.
Consequently, Wambua's charges proceeded to the quarterfinal match where they went down 19-17 to Germany.
Despite failing to advance to the semi-finals a 48-0 victory over Uganda in the battle for the fifth place was enough for them to finish as runners-up to Uruguay in the final standings.
"The boys have shown great character and resilience throughout the Challenger Series. We knew this wouldn't be easy, but they dug deep and delivered some fantastic performances," Wambua said after the match.
Relegated from the top tier last year, the team has consistently displayed their hunger to regain their place among the elite.
The upcoming playoff in Madrid offers a golden opportunity to do just that.
Meanwhile, Kenyan Lionesses suffered a 26-7 defeat to Belgium to finish fourth overall in the Krakow.
The result means they have been knocked out of the Madrid playoffs and will shift gears to the Olympic Repechage tournament next month.
