Prinsloo 7s: Kabras, KCB through to semifinals after dominant displays

Nondescripts RFC, while KCB Rugby renew their rivalry with Kenya Harlequin.
Defending National Sevens Circuit champions KCB Rugby, Kabras RFC, Nondescripts RFC and Kenya Harlequin booked their places in the Prinsloo 7s semifinals after commanding quarterfinal victories on Sunday, 26 July, at Nakuru Athletics Club.
The four sides will now battle for places in the final, with Kabras set to face Nondescripts while KCB Rugby take on Kenya Harlequin in two mouthwatering semifinal clashes.
Kabras rally past resilient Daystar Falcons
Kabras RFC overcame a spirited challenge from Daystar Falcons to claim a 31-12 victory and advance to the last four.
The sugar millers got off to a flying start when Rayvon Ambale crossed over for the opening try, although the conversion drifted wide. Less than a minute later, Griffin Chao extended Kabras' advantage with another unconverted try to make it 10-0.
Daystar responded in style after capitalising on a turnover in midfield. Paul Murwa finished off the move before adding the conversion to reduce the deficit to 10-7.
The Falcons then stunned Kabras by grabbing another converted try through Moses, taking a 12-10 lead into the halftime break.

Kabras, however, emerged a transformed side in the second half. Jackson Siketi restored the lead with a converted try before Ambale dotted down for his second of the match, with Michael Lukusi successfully converting both efforts to stretch the advantage to 24-12.
Siketi completed his brace late on, with Lukusi again adding the extras to seal an emphatic 31-12 victory.
Nondies edge out Blak Blad
Nondescripts RFC fought back from an early deficit to defeat Kenya Academy Blak Blad 12-7.
The students struck first through Archadius Khwesa, with Benjamin Rugar converting to hand Blak Blad a 7-0 lead.
Nondies responded strongly after the break, scoring two unanswered tries in the second half to overturn the deficit and book their place in the semifinals with a hard-fought 12-7 victory.
Harlequins see off MMUST
Kenya Harlequin held their nerve to secure a 14-7 victory over MMUST Rugby.
Ramadan Masete gave Quins the perfect start with the opening try, which was successfully converted for a 7-0 lead.
MMUST responded almost immediately as Flavian Otiyo crossed over before adding the conversion to level the scores at 7-7.
The sides remained deadlocked at halftime after MMUST's momentum was halted by costly infringements.
Albert Alela proved the difference after the break, scoring Quins' second try before the conversion restored their seven-point cushion. MMUST were repeatedly punished for failing to capitalise on their opportunities as Harlequins held firm to progress to the semifinals.
KCB overpower hosts Nakuru RFC
Defending circuit champions KCB Rugby produced another clinical performance to comfortably dispatch hosts Nakuru RFC 19-0.
Floyd Wabwire opened the scoring before Brian Wahinya added the conversion to give the bankers an early 7-0 lead.
Festus Shiasi then crossed for KCB's second try, although Wahinya was unable to convert.
Vincent Onyala added another try, with Wahinya making no mistake from the tee this time as KCB sealed a convincing victory to set up a semifinal showdown with Kenya Harlequin.
The semifinals will see Kabras RFC face Nondescripts RFC, while KCB Rugby renew their rivalry with Kenya Harlequin as the four teams chase the first National Sevens Circuit title of the 2026 season.
