Reading Time: 2min | Sat. 23.09.23. | 21:05
Not the best weekend for Lopaga as Brest suffer defeat away to Neman Grodno.
Kenyan international Collins Sichenje inspired KuPS to beat Inter Turku 1-0 at the Veritas Stadium on Saturday.
Sichenje who started at the heart of the defence clocked full time, helping KuPS keep a clean sheet in the process.
The former AFC Leopards man demonstrated composure throughout as he successfully walked the disciplinary tightrope for the better part of the game as he was cautioned barely six minutes into the game.
A late penalty by Axel Vidjeskog was enough to give the visiting team a win.
Similarly, Stars left-back Clarke Oduor played a part in Bradford City’s 4-1 win over Newport County in an English League 2 game played at the Rodney Parade Stadium.
Oduor was used as a wingback in the game and was rested in the 65th minute for Emmanuel Ebuka.
Andrew Cook was the hero of the game, as his hat-trick helped the visiting team reap the big win.
The forward found the back of the net in the 14th, 29th, and 90th minutes of the game. Rahim Tulloch scored the other goal for Bradford in the 26th minute.
Omar Bogle scored the lone goal for Newport County in the 35th minute.
While the duo celebrated wins with their respective clubs, their compatriot Josephat Lopaga was left leaking wounds after Dinamo Brest suffered a 3-1 defeat to Neman Grodno in a Belarusian top-flight match played at the Neman Stadium.
Lopaga was introduced in the 67th minute for Egor Korstov but he couldn’t see his side salvage at least a point in the game.
Neman got their goals through :Yurii Pantea,Gulzhigit Alykulov and Egor Zubovic. Brest had theirs courtesy of Denis Kovalevich.
