Nairobi United land Harambee Stars goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo

FKF Premier League side Nairobi United has completed the signing of Harambee Stars goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo after he departed from Ethiopian giants Saint George.

The top-flight side confirmed the arrival of the experienced shot-stopper on Friday, describing him as one of the key additions ahead of the 2026/27 season.

"Welcome to Naibois, Faruk Shikhalo! Kenyan international Faruk Shikhalo joins us, bringing experience, leadership, and quality to the squad. Welcome to the family. Let's make history," the club announced on its social media platforms.

The experienced goalkeeper joins Patrick Aussems' side after an impressive spell in Ethiopia, where he established himself as Saint George's first-choice goalkeeper following his move from KCB in October 2025.

The 29-year-old featured in 32 league matches during the 2025/26 Ethiopian Premier League campaign and missed only six games

Although Saint George endured a difficult league season and finished sixth, Shikalo remained one of the club's standout performers, providing leadership and consistency between the posts.

His efforts were rewarded as Saint George ended the campaign by lifting the Addis Ababa Cup, ensuring his time in Ethiopia concluded with silverware.

The Naibois have now moved swiftly to secure the services of one of Kenya's most experienced goalkeepers as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of their maiden FKF Premier League campaign

Shikalo brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously turned out for Posta Rangers, Bandari, Young Africans (Yanga), Kakamega Homeboyz, and KCB.

He also holds a unique place in Kenyan football history as the only goalkeeper to have won the FKF Cup two times, lifting the trophy with Bandari and Kakamega Homeboyz.
