What followed was a gripping end-to-end contest that delivered drama and a stunning late twist.

Both sides began the match at a brisk pace, each chasing an early advantage.

Police registered the first meaningful attempt after just five minutes when David Simiyu connected with Marvin Nabwire’s delivery, only for Michael Bodo to intervene with a perfectly timed block.

Eric Zakayo came close moments later. The former Tusker winger combined neatly with Edward Omondi before unleashing a curling left-footer that drifted inches over the bar.

Bidco responded through John Kelwish, who rose highest to meet Simon Munala’s cross, but failed to keep his header on target.

With the match still cagey after the quarter-hour mark, Police finally broke through five minutes later.

Geoffrey Onyango sliced open Bidco’s defence with a precise pass that found Simiyu in stride, the forward calmly slotting past Issa Emuria to open the scoring.

Police were forced into an early change at the half-hour mark after midfielder Brian Musa was stretchered off, making way for Tobias Otieno.

Bidco, sensing the need to respond, upped the tempo.

Captain Dennis Murunga forced a superb full-stretch save from Job Ochieng after connecting with a well-weighted Munala cross.

Police weathered the pressure and struck at a decisive moment, two minutes before the interval.

Substitute Tobias Otieno delivered an inch-perfect pass that found Zakayo in space, and the winger made no mistake, burying the ball past Emuria for a 2–0 halftime lead.

It was a commanding and deserved advantage for the champions.

Bidco returned from the break with renewed firepower following a triple substitution, introducing: David Kalama, Amos Okoth and Brian Mboya

The changes had immediate impact as Kalama combined with Collins Akite seven minutes into the restart, though the latter’s effort whistled wide from close range.

Bidco continued to press. Brian Okeyo fired over from distance, while Akite was denied by a brilliant last-ditch block from defender David Ochieng after being set through by Kalama.

Sensing a shift in momentum, Police boss Dusan Stojanovic made his own triple substitution twenty minutes from time, introducing: Clinton Kinanga, Exaule Misuri and Gideon Muyadi.

Bidco counterpart Anthony Akhulia had already rolled the dice five minutes earlier by bringing on Jacob Onyango for Idris Amadi, and it was a change that would ignite the contest.

Bidco’s persistence finally paid off in the 73rd minute. A brilliant, whipped delivery from Thomas Wainaina found substitute Onyango, who timed his run perfectly to head home and reduce the deficit.

Two minutes later, Wainaina again proved decisive, this time his teasing cross caused panic in the Police box, forcing defender David Ochieng to turn the ball into his own net, drawing Bidco level at 2–2 and setting up a pulsating finale.

With momentum firmly on Bidco’s side, Police were forced to dig deep. The final minutes were frantic, with both teams chasing the winner.

In stoppage time, substitutes Muyadi and Misuri combined superbly in transition.

A clever lay-off from Muyadi found Misuri in stride, and the forward drilled home a clinical finish, snatching all three points for the champions in dramatic fashion and sparking wild celebrations on the Police bench.

The victory sees Kenya Police climb to third place on 17 points, just two behind leaders Gor Mahia and with two games in hand.

The defeat for Bidco United, extends their winless run to five matches and marks their third loss of the campaign, despite a spirited second-half resurgence that nearly earned them a valuable point.
