Juma, the former Mathare United assistant skipper, has been out of action for more than a year after sustaining a serious knee injury in Bandari’s clash against Sofapaka on Saturday, 28 September 2024.

The dependable defender tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), an injury that required corrective surgery and ruled him out of the second leg of last season.

Now fully healed and back in full training, the Harambee Stars defender has been declared fit to make his long-awaited return.

In an official update, Bandari confirmed that Juma has been given the green light by the medical team and will be in contention for selection when the Dockers host Murang’a Seal at Mbaraki Sports Club this weekend.

“Our captain, Andrew Juma, has been cleared to train with the team and is expected to join those competing for a place in our match against Murang’a Seal,” the club announced.

The good news does not end there for the coastal outfit. Defender Sharif Majabe, who was stretchered off during Bandari’s narrow 1-0 loss to Shabana with a head injury, has also been cleared to play.

“Sharif Majabe, who sustained a head injury recently, has recovered and will be available for the match,” the statement continued.

However, Bandari will still have to contend with notable absentees. Winger William Gitama has been ruled out after picking up a knee injury late in the Shabana match, with the medical team warning that he could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Leading striker Benjamin Nyamawi will also miss out as he continues rehabilitation from a knee setback suffered in the opening fixture of the season against Kariobangi Sharks.

"Our winger William Gitama will miss the upcoming match after picking up an injury last weekend. The doctor has indicated that his recovery will take some time as we await further tests, while our striker Beja Nyamawi is still not fully fit and will also miss the next match.

The medical team has exempted him from training so he can prioritise healing," the communication further read.

Interim head coach John Baraza, who took charge following the dismissal of Kennedy Odhiambo earlier this week, will be hoping the return of Juma inspires his side to secure their first victory of the 2025/26 season.
