Following Portugal's win over Uzbekistan, Ronaldo faced a barrage of questions about the Argentine and didn't like it much
The draw against DR Congo put Cristiano Ronaldo under overwhelming pressure, but the victory over Uzbekistan yesterday lifted a significant weight off his shoulders.
Portugal recorded their first win at the 2026 World Cup and are in a good position to advance as Group K winners, while CR7 himself netted a brace and finally delivered, joining the group of other superstars who have already put their names on the scoresheet, like Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi, and others.
However, following the triumph over the Asian side, the reporters seemed more interested in Cristiano's comment on the Argentine's stellar performances and his World Cup record than in his remarks about his own game, which did not please the Portuguese superstar.
The video of a journalist trying to ask a question about Messi went viral, as his lead-in to the question "Yesterday Lionel Messi scored two goals..." was abruptly interrupted by Ronaldo, who turned away to another reporter and gave him the go-ahead to speak.

And while some consider the 41-year-old's reaction to be excessive, others justify and understand him, as he surely didn't want to talk about other teams or players.
Still, the interrupted question wasn't the only one about Messi, as there were at least four or five of them, one of which Cristiano briefly responded to.

"I couldn't care less about others," he said, before adding, "Mbappe also scored", as he walked away.
He was finally happy on the pitch, but the reporters somewhat spoiled his mood after the win. Knowing Ronaldo, he won't forget it and will undoubtedly try to silence everyone on the pitch.
