Camavinga-backed Madrid target Bats, wounded Barca ought to crush Granada

Spanish giants are going through entirely different phases

Twenty years ago, it would be a massive game, a proper derby between two very even sides dominating the Champions League, let alone La Liga. Today, however, it's not like that.

Sure, Real Madrid are still a powerhouse on a treble quest, but Valencia has had a pretty modest squad and results in recent years. Nevertheless, this season looks like the Bats are finally ready to recreate the long-gone glory and reputation, so tonight's tie promises a lot of excitement.

Two table-toppers will face each other to decide which one of them - if any - will sit alone at the top of the table later tonight.

Three victories and one draw in the opening four rounds give Carlo Ancelotti's slot lots of reasons to believe in an away win. A few days ago, late Rodrygo's goal coming after Camavinga's assist provided them with deserved three points against Inter at Guiseppe Meaza stadium. The mentioned Camavinga has flourished under Ancelotti's guidance.

Unlike Los Blancos, their archrivals Barcelona are suffering a lot, both on and off the pitch, with Ronald Koeman trying to justify the pathetic performances with some lousy excuses.

The reality is that the Blaugrana are miles away from the top, without a single star, excluding Depay, that can make a difference. Tomorrow they'll meet Granada at Camp Nou with a desire to move from that dodgy 10th place.

La Liga crown is mission impossible for them, but it's now a matter of pure dignity that's at stake.
