WPL: Trinity face Kisped, Zetech hosts Gideon as Kayole Starlets battle Bungoma Queens

The FKF Women's Premier League (WPL) continues with match week 15, taking center stage as three matches are lined up for today, Sunday, 8 February.

The top three teams, Kenya Police Bullets, Ulinzi Starlets, and Vihiga Queens, will all be inactive, with the spotlight shifting to Trinity Starlets, who play Kisped Queens.

In the other two matches, Kayole Starlets face off with Bungoma Queens as Zetech Sparks welcome Gideon Starlets.

Ahead of today's matches, Police are still at the summit of the league table with 31 points, two more than Vihiga Queens and Ulinzi Starlets, who are tied at 29 points.

Kisped are at the bottom of the log with -2 points after they were docked six points for issuing two walkovers, the same reason that saw Kisumu Allstarlets docked three points to settle at -1.

The two are joined in the relegation zone by Gideon Starlets with 13 points, making the red zone a Nyanza affair.

Kisped Queens vs Trinity Starlets

Trinity will continue with their search for a first win of the second leg when they face Kisped Queens in a match that will be staged at the Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu from 1400 hrs.

In their three second leg matches, Trinity have lost two and drawn one, leaving them in fourth with 25 points, six shy of leaders Police.

Coach Sylvanus Wesonga will therefore be aiming to guide his side to their first win and rediscover their impressive first leg form against a Kisped side that is low on confidence.

Kayole Starlets vs Bungoma Queens

Kayole Starlets will be keen to make it back-to-back wins when they host Bungoma Queens at Stima Club from 1100 hrs.

Kayole ended their five-match winless run by securing a 2-1 victory over Kisumu Allstarlets in their last match.

Sitting eighth on the log with 19 points, they face sixth-placed Bungoma, who have a point more than them, and therefore a win would take them up to fifth on the log.

Zetech Sparks vs Gideon Starlets

At Zetech University, Mang’u campus, fifth-placed varsity side Zetech Sparks will face Gideon Starlets from 1300 hrs.

Zetech are aiming to narrow the gap from Police while Gideon are in a fight to retain thei r league status.
