No one ever like 'Cold' - Palmer makes Chelsea's history

Thanks to today's magnificent performance against Wolverhampton, the forward has etched his name into the Blues' record books

Earlier today, Chelsea easily brushed aside the Premier League "cellar-dweller" Wolverhampton 3-1, and that's not shocking news at all. However, what Cole Palmer did this afternoon at the Molyneux Stadium deserves specific praise.

The Englishman netted three times before the break - in the 13th and 35th minutes from the spot, though - scoring his third career first-half hat-trick, and became the first player in Premier League history to achieve such a feat.

His maiden early treble came on April 15 against Everton in Chelsea's 6-0 win at Stamford Bridge. Palmer found the net three times inside 29 minutes, and after the break, scored his fourth goal in the game.

Approximately five months later, he repeated this unbelievable accomplishment in a 4-2 triumph against Brighton, only this time, he scored all four goals before the break, setting an absolutely mad EPL record.

Today, the Wolves felt what the Blues' "Cold" was capable of.

At the same time, Palmer leapfrogged John Terry in the eighth place of the London side's all-time top Premier League scorers with 42 goals, though his rise up the table is yet to come, as Diego Costa, Eidur Gudjohnsen, and Gianfranco Zola aren't far away.

Finally, the treble against Wolverhampton was the 23-year-old's fourth at Chelsea, making him their player with the most EPL hat-tricks, surpassing Frank Lampard, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and Didier Drogba, who each had three.

History in the making!
