This fixture comes at a crucial stage of the campaign, with Atalanta pushing for European qualification and Cremonese sliding dangerously toward the bottom half.

The match is part of Serie A’s 24th round and kicks off under the lights in Bergamo from 2030hrs, where the hosts have been building strong domestic momentum.

Under Raffaele Palladino, Atalanta’s revival has been one of the standout stories of the season. Since November, La Dea have collected 23 points from 12 league matches, climbing to seventh in the table on 36 points, just outside the guaranteed European places.

They arrive unbeaten in their last six Serie A games, winning four and drawing two, and recently held Como to a resilient 0-0 draw despite playing most of the match with 10 men.

That result was followed by an emphatic 3-0 Coppa Italia victory over Juventus, further underlining their growing confidence and defensive solidity. Looking at recent form, Atalanta have scored eight goals and conceded just four across their last five competitive matches.

Defensively, they have been particularly impressive, keeping clean sheets in three of their last four outings.

At home, Palladino’s side have won four straight domestic matches, conceding just once in that run, and they will be targeting a fifth consecutive home victory here.

Team news is relatively positive for the hosts. Teenage defender Honest Ahanor and captain Marten de Roon are both suspended, but the rest of the squad is fit, with Mitchel Bakker returning.

Gianluca Scamacca is expected to lead the line, having continued his strong form in midweek, while goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi will again be key after recording the highest save percentage across Europe’s top five leagues in 2026.

Cremonese, by contrast, arrive in Bergamo in worrying form.

Davide Nicola’s side sit 14th on 23 points, six clear of the relegation zone, but are winless in their last nine league matches. In that run, they have lost six times and scored just two goals.

Even more concerning, they have failed to score in their last four matches, including a tame 2-0 home defeat to Inter Milan last time out.

Across their last five league games, Cremonese have scored only one goal and conceded nine, highlighting both attacking struggles and defensive vulnerability.

Away from home, they have managed just one win all season and have failed to score in four of their last five away fixtures.

Injuries continue to limit Nicola’s options, with Michele Collocolo, Warren Bondo and Jari Vandeputte all doubts, while their attack relies heavily on the misfiring pairing of Federico Bonazzoli and Jamie Vardy.

Historically, this fixture strongly favours Atalanta. Cremonese have not beaten La Dea in Serie A this century and have never won away in Bergamo in the top flight.

The reverse fixture earlier this season ended 1-1, but Atalanta are unbeaten in the last four head-to-head meetings.

Key Betting Pointers;

• Atalanta have kept clean sheets in three of their last four matches

• Cremonese have failed to score in their last four games

• Atalanta are unbeaten in six league matches, winning four

• Cremonese are winless in nine Serie A outings

All indicators point toward a controlled home performance.

With Atalanta’s defensive strength and Cremonese’s severe attacking issues, the most logical angle is backing the hosts to win without conceding.

Prediction; Atalanta to win with a clean sheet
