The Paraguay commentator overreacted when Almiron got the red card
Miguel Almiron's dismissal against Turkey instantly became one of the talking points of World Cup. The Paraguay winger was the first ‘victim’ of so-called ‘Prestianni law’, which was introduced at this tournament to prevent potential abuse (racial and otherwise). The dismissal stemmed from a new law introduced earlier this year by the International Football Association Board (IFAB), and Almiron fell for it. As the whole world saw, he briefly shielding his mouth with his hand while exchanging words with defender Mert Muldur and got the red card for it. But, he was not the only one who suffered from this act.
Paraguayan commentator Jorge 'Chipi' Vera was denied further FIFA credentials at the World Cup after he swore and criticized the football governing body over this decision. He was commenting on the game when referee Ivan Barton gave Almiron the red card.
“Thief, thief, Barton. They killed football. FIFA, you killed football. Infantino, you're responsible for this. FIFA, take responsibility for turning football into this. A disgrace. You should be ashamed, Infantino. Alejandro Domínguez (president of Conmebol) less photos with Infantino. Grow a pair. You f***ing thieves! Is this what we have to come and see at a World Cup? What sons of b******! What sons of b******! This is inexplicable, this is a disgrace. They're killing football and leaving us with one less player. Sons of b******” he ranted.

Dichos insultos conllevaron a que FIFA cancelara la acreditación mundialista del relator paraguayo.

His accreditation had been revoked since that game, denying him the chance to cover any further matches at the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico. He posted an apology on social media, and named his colleagues, FIFA officials and sponsors of his travel.
