The Thika-based side went into the encounter 17th on the log with as many points and in a torrid run of form that saw them winless in 17 matches, a whole leg of a league season and in danger of being swallowed by the wide jaws of relegation.
Ulinzi, on the other hand, were 15th on the 18-team league table with 19 points, just a place above the relegation zone.
These statistics and dynamics, therefore, spiced up and upped the stakes in the match as both teams were fighting for their lives in the survival discourse.
The clash kicked off at a slow pace, with both teams cautious in their attacks lest they be caught open on transitions and concede an early goal.
After a tense start, the encounter began to settle in the 10th minute, with Ulinzi starting to dominate proceedings and coming close to opening the scores in the 13th minute through a Boniface Muchiri free kick, but Issa Emuria was alert on goal and pulled a brilliant save.
Bidco, on their part, had their first real chance in the 26th minute, but Bonventure Muchika was present to block a goal-bound attempt.
Just as halftime was approaching, the Oilers made good use of their chance in the 45th minute when Thomas Wainaina’s brilliant free kick caused problems for the military defense with Bill Okite turning it into his own net.

Bidco resumed the second half as a much more defensive side, while the military outfit deployed in an all-out attack and came close in the 74th minute when Muchiri crossed a ball to Paul Odhiambo, whose header was saved by Emuria.
In the end, Bidco held on for their dear lives and secured a vital win for the first time since Wednesday, 29 October 2025. In effect, the Anthony Akhulia-coached side moved out of the relegation zone to sit 15th on the log with 20 points.
