AFC Leopards bank over KSh 2 million in ticket sales after emphatic win over Shabana

FKF Premier League title hopefuls AFC Leopards have made a resounding statement both on and off the pitch, banking over KSh 2 million in ticket sales following a commanding 5-1 victory over Shabana FC at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday evening, 1 March.
In an official update shared across their social media channels, the 12-time league champions revealed that a total of 6,635 tickets were sold, including 5,980 regular tickets and 655 VIP passes.
Regular tickets were priced at KSh 300, while VIP access went for KSh 1,000, bringing the total gate collection to KSh 2,459,000.
The haul marks a significant leap of over KSh 1,981,000 from their previous home outing, where Ingwe pocketed KSh 478,000 in a 2-1 victory over Posta Rangers FC, highlighting the growing fan excitement as the club intensifies its title push.
On the field, Leopards delivered a ruthless display, dismantling the Kisii-based side in front of a roaring home crowd.

Samuel Semo opened the scoring at the quarter-hour mark before Tyson Otieno doubled the lead just before half-time.
Although Shabana pulled one back through Wycliffe Omondi, their response proved short-lived as AFC Leopards accelerated in the second half, shutting down Shabana’s brief resurgence.
Ugandan forward Samuel Ssenyonjo added a third goal, followed by Kayci Odhiambo’s strike to make it 4-1.
Ssenyonjo then completed his brace with a sublime finish, sealing a 5-1 demolition and handing Shabana their heaviest defeat since returning to the FKF Premier League two seasons ago.
The win not only reinforced Leopards’ second-place standing on 43 points but also cut the gap to Gor Mahia to six points, with a game in hand.
