Mulindi was elected as the club's Secretary General on Sunday, 29 June, taking over from Caroline Walusaga, who was serving in an acting capacity following the demise of Gilbert Andugu.
While elections are done and dusted, it seems the politicking fever is yet to settle with camps, individuals and branches still engaging in supremacy battles.
Mulindi seems to have had enough of it, and in an official statement on the club's social media pages, Ingwe's spokesperson warned of forces causing discomfort at the Den.
“I must express concern over a growing trend that threatens the unity and proper functioning of our beloved club.
There are individuals and even some branches who seem to forget that AFC Leopards is a community club governed by the board, guided by a National Executive Committee (NEC) and managed through a secretariat headed by the Secretary General- a position I hold by the will of the members,” read part of the statement.
Mulindi, without mincing his words, went ahead to slam an unnamed branch for unbecoming conduct, noting the effects of such actions.
“It is disappointing and unacceptable when a branch chooses to act independently, making decisions and taking actions without notifying the NEC or even the CEO.
This not only undermines the club's governance but also disrespects the structures that keep this club accountable and functional,” he added.
Mulindi, who trounced Robert Situma and Irene Sitawa in the polls, is believed to have been irked by U45 Unit Branch's decision to organise the Ingwe Gala, only opting to involve the club in the final stages.
While all NEC members were present at the event, including Mulindi, they are believed to have been disappointed and only appeared to avoid conflict, according to talks on Leopards fans' social media pages pre and post the event.
In his letter, Mulindi went ahead to issue warnings and threatened to take disciplinary measures should such actions continue.
“As the duly elected Secretary General, I feel deeply offended by these actions. Let it be known that if such disregard continues, I will not hesitate to issue formal warnings and ensure discipline is maintained.”
Mulindi went ahead to remind everyone of the club's heritage.
“No one individual owns AFC Leopards, it belongs to all of us - its members, its fans and its community.”
