The race, which was upgraded by World Athletics to a gold label event last year, continues to grow in stature.
The inaugural edition in 2023 was held as a bronze label event before progressing to gold status.
The 10km race is now one of two World Cross Country Gold Tour events in Kenya, the other being the Sirikwa Classic in Eldoret.
Registration for elite athletes closed on Saturday, 15 November, after which entries were forwarded to the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for verification.
The verification process is part of efforts to maintain compliance with international standards.
Bib number collection began on Monday, 1 December in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County, and in Kapsabet, Nandi County, at the Eliud Kipchoge Sports Complex.
Distribution continued in Eldoret on Wednesday, 3 December, and later at Chepsaîta Secondary School on Thursday, 4 and Friday, 5 December, for Under-20 and elite athletes.
