Youngster Andy Cole Omolo, flyer Chao to make Kenya Simbas debut against Uganda

Kenya 15s national team; Simbas’ head coach Jerome Paarwater has named the 23-man squad that will be on duty during the 2024 Elgon Cup slated for Saturday, 9 November at the RFUEA Grounds.

Vice-Captain Eugene Sifuna starts in the hooker position and will be assisted by Ephraim Oduor and Wilhite Mususu in the front row.

Emmanuel Silungi and Hillary Odhiambo make up the engine room. The back row is littered with talent, including debutant Andycolle Omolo, who will be on duty with experienced skipper George Nyambua and Jeanson Misoga.

KCB Rugby’s Brian Wahinya starts as scrum-half, while vice-captain Barry Young will be a fullback.

Timothy Omela starts at fullback and is covered by Alfred Orege and debutant Griffin Chao on both wings. Walter Okoth and Tyson Maina will be at the centre.

The likes of Griffin Musila, Obat Kuke, Jone Kubu, and Paul Mutsami will start from the bench.

Their opponents, the Uganda Cranes too, have named their squad for the challenge.

Kenya Legends' vs UK Tritons match rescheduled

This year’s lineup has some changes compared to last year’s team. Santos Ssenteza, Jjuko Jude, and Kabras RFC tight head prop Asuman Mugerwa will play in the front row.

Former Kabras duo Charles Uhuru and Emong Eliphaz will be in the second row. The back row will feature the team of Byron Oketayot, Zziwa Moses, and Pius Ogena, who also played for Kabras RFC.

Conrad Wanyama will play scrum-half, and former Kenya Harlequin playmaker Aaron Ofwoyrwoth will play fly-half. Eric Mulamula will play centre alongside Innocent Gwokto.

For the back three, Robin Philip Odrua and Shakim Ssembusi will be the wingers, and Joseph Aredo, who played for Quins, will start as the fullback.
