The rescheduling aims to enhance the fan experience and align with the grandeur of the Elgon Cup event.

The eagerly anticipated match between the Kenya Legends and UK Tritons Vets, originally set for Friday 8 November at Impala Grounds, has been rescheduled.

In a recent announcement, the Kenya Legends confirmed that the game will now be held on Saturday 9 November at RFUEA Grounds, kicking off at 11:00 AM.

This matchup will be the curtain-raiser for the 2024 Elgon Cup clash between Kenya and Uganda, alongside another exciting fixture featuring Kenya Harlequin against KCB Rugby.

The rescheduling aims to enhance the fan experience and align with the grandeur of the Elgon Cup event.

Kenya Legends Chairman Auka Gecheo shared his enthusiasm about the change, urging fans to turn up in droves.

“Moving our match allows us to contribute to a bigger celebration of rugby in Kenya. We’re excited to showcase our legends right before the significant Elgon Cup fixture," he said.

Kenya Rugby Union CEO Thomas Odundo praised the decision, highlighting its role in fostering rugby's growth in Kenya.

“This shift provides added value for our fans and strengthens the rugby community. We are dedicated to creating memorable experiences that grow the sport and engage our supporters,” Odundo said.

The Legends match also serves as part of the team’s preparation for the Dubai Sevens in December, where they will compete in the Vets category.

Meanwhile, the Simbas are preparing for the first leg of the 2024 Elgon Cup, with the second leg set for Saturday 16 November in Uganda.
