Prinsloo 7s: Quarter Finals berth for teams in title contention as Day 2 enters

Reading Time: 2min | Sun. 10.07.22. | 08:09

The Quarter Finals will kick off at 9 am with the Challenge Cup getting things underway.

All five teams in contention for the National Sevens Circuit booked a place in the quarter finals of the Prinsloo 7s as an off color KCB RFC and Menengai Oilers look to inch closer to the title.

The Bankers registered insipid results on Saturday as they fell to Nondescripts in the final Pool game and could only manage a try in their 7-0 win over Impala Saracens with their only convincing result coming in the 24-14 win over Kenya Harlequin.

KCB however still sit at the summit of the log with 75 points with their only leg win coming in the opening tournament, Kabeberi 7s.

KCB will take on Mwamba RFC in the quarter finals and will hope to turn on the style and finish the rugby season with a trophy after missing out on Kenya Cup where they lost to Menengai Oilers in the semis.

Oilers are chasing hot on the heels of KCB as they trail the Bankers by just three points having finished runner's up in Driftwood and Dala 7s

.

The Gibson Weru-led outfit will come up against Kabras Sugar RFC in the quarters as they hope to make the boisterous home crowd happy with Nakuru RFC who are the hosts failing to make the Main Cup quarters.

Third on the log Strathmore Leos will take on Kenya Harlequin while fellow title contenders albeit with slip hopes Homeboyz will take on Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).
