The Morans, Kenya Sevens’ second-string side, signalled their intent early in the tournament with a commanding 36-0 victory over Pitbulls in their final match of the day.

This came after an equally impressive 41-0 win in their opening fixture, ensuring Kevin Wambua’s charges wrapped up Day One without conceding a single point.

Dennis Abukuse set the tone for the Morans against Pitbulls with an early try, before National Sevens Circuit top try scorer Victor Mola extended the lead with a clinical finish at the corner, giving Kenya a 12-0 cushion at halftime.

After the break, Jackson Siketi added to the tally with a clever dummy and solo run that left the Pitbulls' defence in disarray.

The Morans continued to pile on the pressure, crossing the whitewash three more times to seal a comprehensive 36-0 victory.

The result saw the Morans join hosts Zimbabwe and Zambia, who also registered two wins apiece, in closing the opening day on a perfect note.

With momentum firmly on their side, the Morans will be keen to maintain their fine form on Day Two as they chase the coveted Zambezi Challenge Sevens title.
