Bosnia and Herzegovina were 1-0 up for the vast part of the game before Cyle Larin rescued Jesse Marsch's side (1-1)

Co-hosts Canada earned their first-ever World Cup point in their third appearance at the global tournament with a 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday in Toronto. Despite trailing for the vast part of the match following Jovo Lukic's first-half opener, the Canadians grabbed a valuable point thanks to Jesse Marsch's super sub Cyle Larin.

Mallorca's forward on loan at Southampton netted only three minutes after coming on for a deserved draw, which keeps both sides in contention for the place in the knockout round.

After knocking out Italy in the World Cup qualifiers' playoffs, Bosnia seemed predestined to continue their miraculous quest with a larger-than-life victory over the co-host. Lukic's header around the 20-minute mark made all the difference, as the tall forward headed it home following a corner from the right in his only fourth appearance for the national team.

Canada's Ismael Kone had a marvelous opportunity to restore the stalemate shortly, but his effort went wide over the crossbar.

The underdogs made a serious effort to hold onto that lead despite vicious attacks from Canadians, who came close to scoring on several occasions, but were struggling to find the back of the net.

Bosnia's veteran defender Sead Kolasinac saved a certain goal from Johnatan David onto the woodwork, extending Canada's agony. It came to an end, however, when Marsch made crucial changes. His two second-half subs, David Promise and Cyle Larin teamed up, took the advantage of the poorly executed offside trap made by Kolasinac to set the final score.
