The title race reaches its crescendo on Sunday.

Fireworks will be expected at the Kakamega Bull Ring on Sunday 17 July as the overrall winner of the National Sevens Circuit title will be crowned with Menengai Oilers, KCB RFC, and Strathmore Leos all in contention.

Since the start of the circuit, every leg has been won by a different winner, making the Kakamega 7s even more interesting with all the title contenders having previously won a leg.

Oilers who have hit form at the business end of the circuit having graced the last three finals, finally winning Prinsloo 7s last week after losing Driftwood and Dala 7s have a four-point buffer at the summit of the log.

KCB who are the defending champions will face an uphill battle in their quest to retain the title as they must better Oilers result at the Kakamega 7s and hope the Nakuru-based outfit do not get to another final.

Strathmore Leos who have played enterprising rugby all season have an outside chance of winning the circuit though they trail Oilers by nine points and after Gibson Weru's charges booked a Main Cup quarters berth their hopes are hanging by a thread.

The quarter finals of the Main Cup serve up interesting ties with KCB RFC facing Homeboyz RFC who clinched the Dala 7s but have not hit the right gear in Kakamega after grinding out results on Day 1.

Oilers have a favorable draw in the quarters as they face Varsity side Catholic Monks who have blown hot and cold all season.

Strathmore Leos also have a less tricky match up in the quarters as they face Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) who are enjoying local support.

Kabras Sugar RFC who suffered defeat to arch rivals KCB on Saturday will welcome an improved Nakuru RFC who bounced back from their horror show at their own tournament, Prinsloo to book a place in the Main Cup quarters

.

Kakamega 7s hosts Western Bulls will take on Daystar Falcons who are flying under the wings of try scoring machine Patrick Odongo.

Nondescripts will face Kisumu RFC while Kenya Harlequin tackle Kabarak University while Blak Blad face Vihiga Granites.
