Germany struck first after enjoying possession in the opening minutes of the game.
They scored a converted try to see them take an early lead.
The try brought the Kenyans to the game, with John Okoth piercing through the opponents' defence hard before offloading the ball to speedster Patrick Odongo, who sailed clear to score the first try for Shujaa.
Nygel Amaitsa then added another five-pointer that went unconverted to see Kenya retake the lead.
Following that, the Kenyans were reduced to six men after Kevin Wekesa was yellow-carded.
The home side failed to capitalise on numerical advantage, instead, they were reduced to six men after Ben Ellerman copped a red card for an illegal fend on a Kenyan player as he made his way towards the try line.
