KAGC Series leader John Kamaisi headlines the elite field alongside second-placed Jay Sandhu and third-ranked Elvis Muigua.

They will also face stiff competition from Rwanda's Jean D'Amour Hitayezu, who arrives in Limuru fresh from his victory at last weekend's NCBA Coast Open (Barry Cup).

The women's field is equally impressive, with teenage stars Kanana Muthomi and Cherono Kipkorir leading the charge alongside Kellie Gachaga, Maryam Mwakitawa and Nancy Wairimu.

The tournament has attracted golfers from Rwanda, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana, Burundi, Uganda, India, Ghana, China and Serbia, underlining its growing regional and international stature. Players will compete for a share of the Ksh700,000 prize purse.

Kamaisi heads into the tournament atop the KAGC standings with 809.20 points after extending his lead despite finishing second in Mombasa. Muthaiga Golf Club's Jay Sandhu is second on 640.00 points, followed by Elvis Muigua (495.26), Eugine Wafula (472.26) and William Odek (409.56).

Beyond the prize money, the Limuru Open remains a crucial stop on the KAGC circuit, offering valuable ranking points as players continue their quest for season honours.

The strength of this year's field also reinforces Limuru Country Club's reputation as one of the country's premier championship venues.

Away from Limuru, golfers will also be chasing places in the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale during the Nyanza Golf Club Monthly Mug, which serves as a qualifying event for the series.

The Overall Gross Winner, Men's Gross Winner, Lady Gross Winner, Division Two Men's Winner, Division Two Lady Winner, Division Three Winner and the leading Junior will all earn qualification for the Grand Finale, scheduled for November 28 at Karen Country Club.

Meanwhile, the fifth leg of the 2026 Professional Golfers of Kenya (PGK) Equator Tour teed off at Ruiru Sports Club on Thursday and will run until Sunday, 19 July.
