All set for Mozzart Cup semis as KPA face GSU, Chema take on Prisons

The opening day of the 2026 Mozzart Kenya Cup was a succes as fans, who thronged the Kasarani Indoor Arena, were treated to four tantalizing volleyball matches on Friday 24 July.
The highlight of the day was the final quarterfinal match pitting giants KPA versus KDF where the Dockers staged a remarkable comeback to secure a 3-1 win.

In what was a tightly contested match, the military men proved to be the better side, in the opening set, and went ahead to win 25-22.
KDF would, once again, begin the second set on the front foot but a rejuvenated KPA staged a spirited fight to secure the set by 30-28 scoreline.
The third set was also as difficult as the second for both sides, but Enock Mogeni proved to be the hero for KPA as his hotly served spikes guided KPA to a 29-27 win.
The fin set seemed to have demoralized KDF as KPA had a rather easy win in the final set with a 25-17 scoreline with Mogeni named man of the match.
KPA have now booked a semi final date with their fierce rivals GSU in what is expected to be a high octane clash highlighting Saturday matches.
GSU sailed to the last four courtesy of a 3-0( 25-22, 25-17 and 25-19) over Equity Bank.
In other matches played earlier in the day, Kenyan giants Prisons Kenya secured an easy 3-0 win over APK to book the first semi final slot.
The Wardens were too rampant for APK bagging the three sets 25-18, 25-16 and 25-13.
Prisons will now face Chema Volleyball Club who equally sailed to a 3-0 win over KAPU with 25-20, 25-15 and 25-15 set scores respectively.
Saturday 25 July will witness epic competitions as teams strive to enter the prize money category.
The winner of the cup, which comes to a conclusion on Sunday 26 July, will pocket Ksh300,000.
The runners-up will walk home Ksh200,000 while the third placed team will get Ksh100,000.
16 referees, meanwhile, will be pocketing Ksh100,000 all courtesy of leading gaming firm Mozzart Bet.
