The 2022 World Cup kicks off in Qatar on Sunday
Germany and Belgium rely on African forces
Over the past week, most World Cup finals participants revealed their 26-name squads for the tournament. As it usually goes, these events spark debate about whether some player should or shouldn't have been included. But there is something it's impossible to deny: European nations would have much weaker teams had they not included Africans in their squads. England couldn't do it without Saka or Sterling, Germany would suffer if they couldn't count on Rudiger, Musiala, Gnabry or Sane - and Belgians pray for the good health and fitness of Romelu Lukaku. In total, the Belgian national team will field five boys with African roots, while Germany will rely on no less than seven of them.

Mane's injury rocks Senegal
We keep updating you about players' injuries ahead of the World Cup, and it's not a pleasant subject. But the one that really hurt football fans around the world, and notably in Senegal, is that of Sadio Mane. The man who is expected to lead the nation in the biggest tournament spent the last week with a protective cast, determined to win the race against time and make himself available to coach Aliou Cisse. FIFA secretary general, Senegalese woman Fatma Samoura even said they would use witch doctors and their magic to give Mane every chance of a speedy recovery. The Bayern attacker is going to Qatar with the national team, but we're still in the dark about whether he'll be able to play.

Bandari will host Sofapaka while ambitious Kenya Police and KCB will faceoff.
New CAF Women's CL sheriff in town
There is new sheriff in town, she is running around.
Morocco's AS FAR Club are the new CAF Women's Champions League champions after dethroning Mamelodi Sundowns, hammering them 4-0 in the final on Sunday evening.
Sundowns were the defending champions coming into the competition as they won in the inaugural event in Egypt last, one in which Kenya's Vihiga Queens took part.
Kenya was represented by two Kenyan internationals, midfielder Vivian Corazone, and striker Topister Situma both doing duty for Simba Queens who were representing the CECAFA region and managed to finish fourth after falling to Bayelsa Queens in the third-place playoffs.
Lethargic Kenya Simbas bow out of World Cup contention
A humiliating 85-0 defeat at the hands of Portugal on Saturday saw the men's national rugby 15s side Kenya Simbas miss out on a ticket to the Rugby World Cup 2023 following two consecutive losses in the Repechage taking place in Dubai.
The lethargic Kenyans were no match for the Portuguese who ran in thirteen tries to hand Kenya one of its biggest losses in their history, compounding their misery and ill preparation made by the Kenya Rugby Union for the World Cup qualifier.
Having lost the opening two games, Simbas automatically missed out on a ticket to the prestiious tourney owing to an insurmountable mathematical difference as they trail log leading Portugal by 10 points yet only one game is remaining.
