Adeyemi, Musiala, Rudiger, Bella-Kotchap, Sane, Gnabry and Moukoko are on Hansi Flick's 26-man list for the Qatar tournament

We've been accustomed to seeing the French national team packed with peculiar footballers of African descent. Moreover, those guys were precisely the ones who pushed Les Bleus to their two World Cup titles (Zidane, Thuram, Henry, Pogba, etc.)

But now, it seems the time has come for Germany to do the same with more than a dozen exquisite players who are strongly bounded to their ancestors' land.

Among the 26 players that Die Mannschaft manager Hansi Flick will take to the World Cup in Qatar, there are seven players of African origins!

Their offensive line is packed with exactly those aces, with most of them coming from one team only, super-mighty Bayern Munich - Jamal Musiala (Nigeria), Serge Gnabry (Ivory Coast), and Leroy Sane (Senegal). Alongside them are Borussia Dortmund's prodigies Karim Adeyemi (Nigeria) and Youssoufa Moukoko (Cameroon). Finally, their defensive wall is made of two remarkable centre-backs of African descent, Real Madrid's Antonio Rudiger (Sierra Leone) and Southampton's Armel Bella-Kotschap (Cameroon).

When it comes to those omitted from the provisional squad, the most significant written-off is definitely Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus.

Alongside Reus, there were several high-profile absences in the squad, including Reus' Dortmund teammate Mats Hummels and Inter Milan wing-back Robin Gosens.

Former Chelsea striker Timo Werner was ruled out in early November due to a leg injury.
