The result dumps Kenya out of the World Cup race due to an insurmountable point difference
The Kenya Simbas' dream of making a historic first appearance at a prestigious Rugby World Cup tournament will have to wait a little bit longer as the team lost their second consecutive game after going down to a humiliating 85-0 defeat against Portugal in the ongoing Final Qualification Tournament (The Repechage) currently taking place in Dubai.
In the match played at the Sevens Stadium on Saturday, Portugal's staggering thirteen tries highlighted the gulf in class between the two sides as Kenya failed to record any try past the blazing opponents.

After suffering an almost similar defeat in there first match against the USA where they lost 68-14, the Paul Odera coached side needed at least a win in order to keep alive thee faintest hopes of making the 2023 Rugby World Cup set to be held in France.
That however remained to be a pipedream as the Portuguese proved too much too handle as they outclassed the Kenyan boys in every department with their perfect balance of attacking play causing the damage and well coordinated defense keeping out any threat that came their way.

With the result, Kenya stayed rooted at the bottom of the table having collected zero points after two games, which left them mathematically unable to surmount the point gap, as Portugal are on 10 points, consequently losing the single ticket available to France in 2023 with only one match remaining.
