Going into the match, Trinity were on top of the 12-team league table with 17 points, one more than Kayole Starlets, who were second.
The two teams were also on a good run of form and had both secured wins in their previous matches ahead of the clash.
The match started at a rather slow pace as both teams struggled to secure control of the game, with possession coming largely from missed passes.
The two teams then grew into the match as the 20th minute approached, but it was not until the half-hour mark that the deadlock was broken.
The familiar Kayole pair of Magneta Ocharo and Lindah Kihara combined well, with the latter beating the offside trap to deliver her strike into the back of the net, much to the jubilation of the travelling Kayole faithful.
The hosts battled and got their reward in the fourth minute of first half added time when Mercyline Mejor scored the equaliser to ensure it was all square at half time.
In the second half, a defensive mix-up in the 52nd minute presented an opportunity that Splendor Mmohi utilised to give Trinity the lead for the first time in the game, a comeback scoreline that they kept until the final whistle.
With the win, Trinity maintained their place at the summit of the league table, increasing their point tally to 20, three more than second-placed Kenya Police Bullets, while Kayole have dropped to fourth with 16 points.
