Gor Mahia will seek to end the first leg of the season unbeaten and possibly stretch the gap at the summit to eight points
Will Gor Mahia wrap up the first leg of the 2023-2024 Football Kenya Federation Premier League unbeaten or Posta Rangers will spoil their party?
This is the biggest question lingering in the minds of football enthusiasts ahead of the final round of the first leg of the season.
Rangers host the unbeaten Gor in the top-of-the-table clash at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos in one of the five league matches lined up for Saturday.
Gor are enjoying a comfortable five-point cushion at the summit as well as an unbeaten run to preserve heading to the game that is scheduled for 3 pm kick-off.
Rangers are breathing behind their back and will seek to cut the gap to two points as well as register their ninth win of the campaign.
Coach John Kamau will be glad to have the duo of Curtis Wekesa and Benard Ondiek available for selection after being away for more than a month due to injuries.
Another team seeking to draw closer to Gor is Kakamega Homeboyz, who have a date with Kenya Police in South C.
Homeboyz lost their last two league assignments against AFC Leopards and Nairobi City Stars, and will take on Police looking to redeem themselves and start the year in style.
The game will see Police coach Salim Babu return to the touchline and start life as the stand-in tactician at the club.
Babu succeeds his immediate former boss Zdravko Logarusic who left the club under unclear circumstances.
Nairobi City Stars will seek also to reduce the gap between them and K’Ogalo when they play FC Talanta at Ruaraka Grounds.
Simba wa Nairobi gathered maximum points in their last five matches and will seek to beat Talanta and move to four points within the top spot if the results in Machakos will favour them.
Talanta are winless in their last five matches and lost 3-0 to Kariobangi Sharks in their last encounter.
Bandari who are in the promotion equation take on Nzoia Sugar at Mbaraki Sports Grounds, hoping to bag their ninth win of the season.
Meanwhile, Shabana will play the resurgent Muhoroni Youth at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.
Muhoroni secured wins in their last two games and will approach today’s encounter with nothing but getting three points in mind.
