"Football is very fair. Nothing can happen overnight," says the 52 year old coach

AFC Leopards coach Tomas Trucha says he is eyeing a mid-table finish with the troubled club and has pleaded with fans to be patient as he rebuilds the side.

Trucha, who was brought in to replace Tom Juma three months ago, insists a lot needs to be done in terms of balancing his current squad.

“I have told the management about some names that I want to bring on board and if they do sign, then we can push to finish in the top eight or nine. It is a real challenge at the moment,” he admitted.

He added: “Our fans should not be impatient. They should consider where the club was before I came. The club had suffered two transfer window bans and even the previous coach could not do much.”

Trucha said he is looking to bring in four players this month, and believes they will help him stabilize the team and then, only can he start dreaming of challenging for the title next season.

“Football is very fair. Nothing can happen overnight. With the right balance it gets easier to pick results. We are working on that at Leopards and then we will have a formidable side.”

He said the team is desperately in need of a striker, even as he revealed they will try and do well in the Mozzart Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) Cup.

“We have not been losing matches and not winning either. The problem has been upfront and this transfer window, we are looking for a striker who can help us get the goals we need to win matches,” he said.

Leopards play Ulinzi Stars on Sunday as the league resumes after a short break and Trucha has predicted a tough match.

“We have had amazing training and are prepared for the match and know what to expect. Our opponents have a good coach and the fact that he has been here longer than me means we cannot undermine them. We need three points and so do they. It makes for a tough match.”
