K’Ogalo faced KCB in an FKF Premier League match on Sunday, 5 October, at Dandora Stadium, emerging with a 1-0 victory courtesy of a second-half goal by Felix Oluoch.
It turns out that the victory meant more than just three points to the 21-time champions, as it was also a response to remarks made by KCB’s Omondi leading up to the game.
Speaking to the media after the match, Morrison weighed in on the matter, taking a swipe at Omondi.
“When you cannot fix your home and you talk about someone’s home, sometimes it is very bad.
Some people were saying Gor Mahia is just an ordinary team, even before facing us. For us, we do not talk before the game; we talk after the game.
They should keep quiet and work hard as we are working,” said the former Asante Kotoko midfielder.
Nevertheless, the Ghanaian midfielder revealed that the remarks did not spur the team’s spirit, as it was a time to showcase their class.
“It is not something that motivated us. We just saw the video and laughed because we know that they do not have the kind of quality that we have in our team,” he added.
Prior to the match, Omondi had downplayed Gor Mahia’s superiority and likened them to other teams, remarks that seemingly did not sit well with Morrison.
“K’Ogalo is just a name. We will face them, and football will decide. The final whistle will decide the winner. We will tackle them just like any other normal side.”
Since their defeat to Bidco United in their opening match of the season, K’Ogalo have won their last two league matches against Sofapaka and KCB FC respectively and now sit third on the league table with six points.
