The Ivorian midfielder has since undergone initial procedures at Aga Khan Hospital, Dar es Salaam, with Suluhu visiting her on Monday 6 July.
“President Samia Suluhu visited and wished quick recovery today to Yanga midfielder Pacome Zouzoua who continues to receive medical care at Aga Khan hospital, following an injury suffered in a league match against JKT Tanzania,” read a post by Yanga.
According to Yanga, Pacome will be under medical assessment for six weeks to monitor his recovery and response to treatment, before further action is taken.
"Another clinical assessment will be conducted after the six weeks to evaluate his healing progress and determine the next phase of rehabilitation including a possible return to play timeline,” said Yanga media officer Ali Kamwe.
JKT, also in a show of sportsmanship, had already sent a message of good will to the 29-year-old.
“The management of JKT Tanzania FC is deeply saddened by the injury suffered by Pacôme Zouzoua and sincerely apologizes for the incident, which was not intentional,” posted JKT.
Despite Pacome’s injury, Yanga, who were captained by Harambee Stars midfielder Duke Abuya in the match, went ahead to claim a comfortable 3-0 victory, retaining their league title.
JKT will be hoping to have Pacome before their return to action in the CAF Champions League (CAF CL).
