The versatile winger and utility back was among the tournament's standout debutants as the Morans secured third-place finish.
His impressive performances earned him another national team selection for the Zambezi 7s in Zimbabwe, where Morans capped off a successful campaign by defeating hosts Zimbabwe 14-0 in the final to lift the title.
The national team experience has since translated into impressive club form. Amukwachi was one of Daystar Falcons' standout performers during the Met 7s, crossing the whitewash in every match as the Athi River-based side reached the final before falling 26-12 to KCB.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Amukwachi credited the demanding environment in the national team camp for helping him elevate his performances.
"Being in the national team set-up really improves your performance. The training intensity is higher, and you're exposed to things we don't usually do at the club level. Once you're in that environment, your game naturally improves,” he said.
Despite missing out on the Met 7s title, the Falcons skipper was encouraged by his team's display ahead of the National Sevens Circuit.
"I'm happy that my team and I managed to raise the bar as we prepare for the National Sevens Circuit,” he explained.
Looking ahead to the Ruff n Tuff 7s, Amukwachi says the team is determined to learn from its shortcomings and mount an even stronger challenge.
"Ahead of the Ruff n Tuff, we'll work on correcting our mistakes so that we can make everyone who supports us proud,” he offered.
Daystar Falcons head coach Caleb Bosire believes Amukwachi's national team experience has transformed him into an even better player and leader.
"He is our captain, and he's really stepping up. His time with the national team has given him valuable exposure that has clearly improved his game. He's a leader in this team, and I encourage him to keep working hard and continue developing,” the tactician said.
Amukwachi will now be keen to maintain his rich vein of form when Daystar Falcons take to the field at the Ruff n Tuff 7s on Saturday, 11 July, at the Ngong Racecourse.
The newcomers have been drawn into a challenging Pool B alongside last season's runners-up Mwamba RFC, Impala RFC, and Nakuru RFC, replacing USIU in this year's competition as they continue their preparations for the National Sevens Circuit.
