The former Mathare United playmaker joined Ingwe at the start of the season after parting ways with Police, who he had joined in July 2023 from Kariobangi Sharks.
Otieno has been a sensation at the Den this season, receiving much praise and admiration from fans across the board, with Police FC on the receiving end of criticism for letting him go.

In a Facebook post, one of Police FC’s supporters, Ochy Weider, lamented the neglect faced by Otieno during his time at the club.
“The previous Police FC’s technical bench never believed in Tyson. I used to ask myself why he was never given a chance most of the time. Luckily, God has his ways.
He found a home at AFC Leopards, and he is showing us that he was never given a chance at his previous team. All the best to him,” read the post by Weider.
It is from this post that Ochutsi took to the comment section to lift the lid on Otieno’s misfortunes at Police FC.
“Tyson was injured for a long time, then left when his contract lapsed. He is not the first player to shine elsewhere upon leaving his previous football club and will not be the last. This would have been news if it was,” stated Ochutsi.
The city lawyer went ahead to state that Police FC are impressed with Otieno’s form at Ingwe.
“Football is a revolving door, you leave, you go, you can come back. On behalf of Police FC, we are happy for his heroics and wish him the very best.”

Otieno was once again the hero for AFC Leopards when, in a moment of individual brilliance, he chipped the ball past the goalkeeper at a tight angle to score the only goal of the match as Ingwe secured three points against Kariobangi Sharks in a FKF Premier League match on Sunday, 29 March.
