It was a bit of joke back to the fans, Bellingham explains

Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham has brushed off criticism over his lifestyle off the pitch, insisting the attention is "outside noise" and that his recent celebration against Monaco was nothing more than a playful response to fans.

The 22-year-old scored Madrid's final goal in a 6-1 Champions League win and marked it with a drinking gesture, quickly drawing attention online.

The celebration followed viral claims by Spanish YouTuber AuronPlay, who suggested Bellingham "loves alcohol too much" and visits "every nightclub in Spain," implying it was affecting his performances.

"It feels like anyone can grab a camera, say what they want, and the world just believes it without evidence," Bellingham told TNT Sports after the victory. "You can either cry about it or just roll with it and enjoy it. The gesture was a bit of a joke back to the fans and the people who say whatever they want."

Bellingham emphasised that his focus remains on the pitch:

"I know the truth and what goes on in my personal life. I know what I give in the game, to the team. The outside noise doesn't matter, but it's nice to have a little joke."

He also acknowledged the role of the supporters:

"Fans pay, work all week, save up to come to Real Madrid games. They're entitled to say what they want. This was the kind of performance we have to deliver more of for them."

Even in the face of criticism, Bellingham remains confident, letting his football do the talking.
