PSG stumble in late Lisbon rampage, brutal Madrid put half a dozen in Monaco's net

The defending champions suffer a heavy blow at Sporting (2-1), while Los Blancos destroy Monaco (5-0)
A year after scripting a miracle run from the edge of elimination straight to the Champions League throne, Paris Saint-Germain are once again flirting with danger.
Luis Enrique's side suffered a painful 2-1 defeat away to Sporting, a result that leaves their place in the Top 8 seriously under threat heading into the final round.
Sporting stunned the reigning European champions in Lisbon, drawing level with PSG on 13 points. Manchester City and Atalanta sit on the same tally, while Atletico Madrid and Liverpool lurk just below with 12 and a game in hand. Barcelona, Chelsea and Newcastle (all on 10) could also close in. Nothing is secured yet...
The night turned cruel for the defending champions in the 90th minute, when former Marseille man Luis Suarez struck again, completing a brace and igniting Sporting's dream of direct qualification. It was PSG's second defeat of the campaign, after the one against Bayern Munich - and one that hurt more, given their dominance. Luis Enrique's side controlled the possession, but fortune deserted them: three disallowed goals inside an hour told the story of a night where control did not equal reward.
And while Paris tremble, Madrid breathe again.
After recent humiliation on Arvalo Arbeloa's rocky debut, Copa del Rey elimination, and booing at the Bernabeu - Real Madrid responded with fury. Monaco were swept aside 6-1 in a Galactico exhibition that washed away weeks of tension and put Los Blancos back on track for a Top 8 finish ahead of a decisive trip to Lisbon.
This was the Real Madrid Florentino Perez dreams of.

Kylian Mbappe struck twice to set the tone, Vinicius Junior dazzled with one goal and three assists, while Valverde, Guler and Mastantuono underlined the depth of the squad. The Bernabeu, frozen just days earlier, thawed into applause.
Los Blancos can scare Europe if the stars click. If they don't, chaos returns. That is the Galactico paradox: capable of collapsing against Albacete one week, and unleashing atomic football the next. On nights like this, though, Madrid look very much alive. PSG? Once again, walking the wire.
