When the league debutants hosted Gor Mahia at the Green Stadium, Kericho on Sunday, 15 February, regular club captain Chris Wilunda made his return to the starting 11, only that this time, he did not have the armband.
As the two sides walked out of the tunnel, Philip Wasai was leading the team, a matter that the former Tusker FC tactician weighed in on after the full-time whistle.

“It is about discipline. I did not like what happened last time. I am happy, though, that he (Wilunda) played well, and Wasai led the team also well, and it is going to continue like that,” Pamzo told Mozzart Sport.
The right back lost his cool while protesting a refereeing decision in APS’ match against Shabana on Saturday, 24 January and was shown a red card, leaving his team with 10 men who salvaged the game to settle for a 3-3 draw.
In their match against Gor Mahia, the Mozzart Bet-powered outfit could not pull off their first leg heroics, suffering a 2-1 defeat, which nonetheless left Pamzo a happy man.
“Sometimes, as a coach, you feel proud of your team even when you lose such a match because you fought until the end.
We were good on build-up, kept possession so well, and the only thing that lacked was that we did not put Gor under pressure to make mistakes.
We gave them enough room on the ball, and they controlled the game through Alpha (Onyango), Morrison (Enock) and Ochuoga (Paul),” he added.
Pamzo, who was up against his former side, went ahead to rue costly mistakes in the match.
“We largely lost due to our mistakes, and when you make mistakes against an experienced team like Gor Mahia, they punish you. All their goals were due to our mistakes.”
APS, who are now 15th on the log with 18 points, will have an opportunity to make amends when they face Kenya Police FC on Sunday, 22 February at the Police Sacco Stadium.
