Mully Children Family head into the fixture buoyed by their 2-0 victory over Kisumu All Stars, a result that marked their first win of the year.
The Machakos-based outfit will now be aiming to build on that momentum and secure back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
Despite the morale-boosting triumph, MCF remains rooted at the foot of the 20-team standings with 17 points.
However, the stakes could not be clearer.
A win on Monday would lift them to 20 points and potentially move them off the bottom, narrowing the gap to safety to just seven points—an outcome that could reignite hopes of a late survival push.
Under the guidance of head coach Francis Chege, MCF are well aware that any further slip-ups could prove costly in their quest to retain their National Super League status.
With limited matches remaining, every point has become invaluable, turning each fixture into a must-win encounter.
Standing in their way, however, is a resurgent Kabati Youth side equally determined to steer clear of relegation trouble.
The Thika-based outfit heads into the clash on the back of a hard-fought 1-0 victory over fellow debutants Gucha Stars, a result that ended a difficult run of five consecutive defeats.
That win not only restored confidence within the squad but also provided a crucial platform as they look to climb further up the table.
Coached by Haji Bilali, Kabati Youth currently sit within touching distance of mid-table safety and will be targeting consecutive wins to solidify their position.
Victory on Monday would see them reach the 30-point mark and potentially rise to 14th place, opening a valuable six-point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone.
A positive result would further strengthen their survival credentials, offering breathing space as the season enters its decisive phase.
The reverse fixture between the two sides ended in a goalless stalemate, highlighting the evenly matched nature of the contest.
With both teams now desperate for maximum points, Monday’s showdown is expected to be fiercely contested, with fine margins likely to determine the outcome.
