He has represented Kenya at the U23 level and, in recent months, has received backing for a senior national team call-up.
Manchester City’s ownership group, City Football Group (CFG), is reportedly leading the race to sign highly-rated Gor Mahia right-back Paul Ochuoga, according to British outlet TEAMtalk.
The 21-year-old full-back has established himself as Gor Mahia’s first-choice right-back this season, surpassing both captain Philemon Otieno and Harambee Stars’ Lewis Bandi. TEAMtalk reports that Ochuoga has drawn attention from a growing list of European scouts, and a major transfer could take place if this interest turns into a concrete bid.

Ochuoga has been in strong form for Gor Mahia this season, contributing both assists and key goals. He scored the winning goal against Murang’a Seal in January to complete a comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2, and days later, he scored a stoppage-time winner against Bidco United in another 2-1comeback victory.
According to TEAMtalk, CFG is now at the front of the queue for Ochuoga’s signature and is actively working on a plan to bring him to Europe this summer. CFG’s multi-club model provides a structured pathway for emerging talent, and internal discussions have reportedly taken place regarding Ochuoga’s most suitable first destination.
Spanish side Girona and Italian club Palermo are both under consideration as potential initial destinations, offering Ochuoga a platform to adapt to European football.
CFG is not the only group monitoring Ochuoga. Brighton and Brentford, both of which maintain strong and well-established scouting networks across Africa, have tracked his performances. In addition, Chelsea’s BlueCo ownership group and the Red Bull football network have been following his development, reflecting the growing competition for his signature.
Despite signing a new contract with Gor Mahia earlier this year, the club is now preparing for offers and is expected to generate a substantial fee if a transfer materializes. There is a belief that Ochuoga could be fast-tracked into one of Europe’s top-flight leagues as early as next season.
Ochuoga has represented Kenya at the U23 level and, in recent months, has received backing for a senior national team call-up.
