Wilson’s goal contribution was also his first in AIK colors, having now returned back to the fold after serving some months away with Division 1 side Enkoping SK.
The former Kariobangi Sharks man, who was peculiarly deployed as a left wing-back, ended up clocking 93 minutes in the fixture, before being replaced at the end by defender Sotirios Papagiannopoulos.
His full participation on such a big occasion extended his recent run of games under manager José Riveiro, who has used the Kenya Under 20 in all the team’s friendlies and cup games dating back to 25 January.
As per Flashcore, Wilson was ranked as the player with the fourth-highest rating for AIK, having had 80 total touches, completed 92 percent of his passes, and made the highest number of duels for AIK - 16.
Ivory Coast defender Ibrahim Cisse scored AIK’s first goal of the season in the 21st minute, before Halmstad equalized four minutes after the hour-mark through Finnish midfielder Otso Liimatta.
AIK, after matchday one, are third in the standings, and next face Brommapojkarna at Stockholm’s Grimsta IP Stadium on Monday, 13 April.
Odada features in Romania
Elsewhere in Romania, Harambee Stars midfielder Richard Odada was a second-half substitute for UTA Arad, as they beat Metaglobus Bucharest 5-1 in Round Three of the Superliga Relegation Group.
The 25-year-old, straight from international duty last week, was introduced in the 59th minute of the game as a replacement for Belgian midfielder Benjamin Van Durmen, featuring for a total of 32 minutes.
His entry came at a time when his side were 2-0 up, marking his second league appearance since his red-card suspension early last month.
