Naibois, who are the defending Mozzart Bet Cup champions, will face fellow FKF Premier League side Posta Rangers in the round of 16 in their quest to mount a strong title defense.
With the match scheduled for Sunday, 12 April, Oduor is now sweating over the availability of some key players.
“The problem we have had is injuries ahead of the cup game, and that worries us a lot. We are hoping that we get out of the crisis before the match against Posta,” said Oduor.
The latest entrant on the injury list is captain John Otieno, who was stretchered off the pitch in the second half of their match against Mara Sugar on Wednesday, 1 April at Kasarani Annex.
Otieno joins a growing list of key players injured that includes Harambee Stars winger Ovella Ochieng, Steve Biko and Benson Omalla.
Oduor also explained their struggles in the Mara Sugar clash that ended in a 1-1 draw, including a tactical reshuffle that saw Enock Machaka redeployed to his preferred midfield role after starting on the wing.
“We noticed that we were not battling enough in midfield and had to put Machaka there because he thrives in such duels, and that eventually led to us scoring,” he stated.
Oduor went ahead to take responsibility for the poor run that the team is currently undergoing, having failed to win their last four matches, winning only two of their past 14 encounters.
“It is a collective effort. We win, draw and lose as a team. I hope that we can bounce back in our next matches,” he remarked.
Naibois are currently 10th on the league standings with 35 points, a whopping 21 points shy of league leaders Gor Mahia, with the Mozzart Bet Cup now serving as their only realistic chance of silverware this season.
