Cabinet Secretary for Interior and club patron Kipchumba Murkomen revealed the plans during an official inspection tour of the facility.
The announcement comes as the disciplined forces-backed side prepares for its maiden campaign in Kenya’s top-tier football league, following a second-place finish in the National Super League (NSL) with 68 points, just four behind champions Nairobi United.
In a detailed update shared on his official Facebook page, CS Murkomen emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the stadium meets the required standards for hosting top-flight matches.
Among the key areas earmarked for immediate improvement are the playing surface, drainage systems, inner perimeter fencing, and the players’ and officials’ changing rooms, which are currently in deplorable states.
"The playing surface, inner perimeter fence, and changing rooms need to be revamped before the stadium can host matches,” Murkomen stated.
"As the club’s patron, I’m mobilizing resources to ensure the club is fully equipped to compete and win trophies.”
The facility has previously served APS Bomet during their NSL campaigns, but its elevation to FKF Premier League status demands compliance with league regulations and match-day safety protocols.
The CS lauded the promotion of APS Bomet as a landmark moment, highlighting the growing influence of disciplined forces teams in the FKF-PL.
APS Bomet’s rise joins league champions Kenya Police FC in making it two teams under the National Police Service in the top flight.
Last season Kenya Police won their maiden FKF-PL title, making history as the first disciplined forces side to win the prestigious trophy.

"Having two teams from the disciplined forces in our country’s top flight is a testament to the hard work, discipline, and professionalism of our police service. Investing in them supports talent development and fosters a better police-community relationship." He added.
