Omoto is not only the most experienced player in Sharks' ranks but also one of the longest-serving players in the league, with a career spanning about 15 years.

The Harambee Stars midfielder returned to Kariobangi Sharks at the start of the season, becoming the experienced true north upon which the young players look up to.

The former Bandari FC midfielder was a key figure for Sharks as they battled out to a barren draw against league leaders Gor Mahia, drawing praise from Muluya, who explained his importance to the team.

“Patillah carries the history of the team on his back. He has known Sharks more than any other player and has served us diligently,” said Muluya.

“At Sharks, he is at home and provides lots of leadership and mentorship to young players. Aroko, Razel and Mark, for instance, were ball boys to Tillah, but now they are playing in the same team,” he added.

The former Harambee Stars assistant coach went ahead to reveal what makes the former Kenya Police FC midfielder a special player.

“I only want to appreciate that he is here serving us honestly and diligently. He is someone I would like to coach even in his 50s because of his work ethic and one of the players who will uplift us to the next level,” he noted.

Omoto is expected to play an integral role in Sharks' quest to retain their FKF Premier League status.

Sharks are currently 14th on the league standings with 26 points, just one ahead of APS Bomet in the relegation zone.

Next up for the 2018 Mozzart Bet Cup winners is a cup tie against Tusker FC on Friday, 10 April, at Kasarani Stadium.
