Gor Mahia remain at the summit of the league table with 49 points, six more than their arch-rivals AFC Leopards who are second, while Shabana close the top three with 40 points.

Following action on Saturday 28 February and Sunday 1 March, the FKF Premier League match week 23 continues with four matches lined up for today, Monday 2 March.

Kakamega Homeboyz face APS Bomet in a Mozzart Bet derby, Kariobangi Sharks take on Tusker FC, Mara Sugar entertain Sofapaka, while Bidco United lock horns with Ulinzi Stars.

Ahead of the four tantalizing afternoon matches, Gor Mahia remain at the summit of the league table with 49 points, six more than their arch-rivals AFC Leopards who are second, while Shabana close the top three with 40 points.

At the bottom of the table lies Sofapaka with 14 points, joined in the relegation zone by Bidco United and APS Bomet with 17 and 19 points respectively.

Kakamega Homeboyz vs APS Bomet

Kakamega Homeboyz will welcome APS Bomet in a Mozzart Bet derby scheduled for 1400 hrs at Bukhungu Stadium.

Both Homeboyz and APS are backed by Kenya’s leading gaming firm Mozzart Bet Kenya Limited, adding extra spice to the encounter.

Homeboyz head into the game sitting sixth on the log with 35 points and on the back of a five-match unbeaten run, including three wins.

APS Bomet, on the other hand, come into the match on a poor run of form that has seen them win only one of their last 11 matches, suffering six defeats, including in their most recent outing against Kariobangi Sharks.

While both teams are targeting three points, their motivations differ. Homeboyz are chasing a win that could lift them back to fourth place, while APS are fighting to avoid relegation.

When the two sides met in the first leg on 29 October, Homeboyz secured a 2-1 away victory over the law enforcers and will be seeking a season double, while APS will be eager for revenge.

Kariobangi Sharks vs Tusker FC

Kariobangi Sharks will host Tusker FC at Police Sacco Stadium from 1615 hrs in the final match of the day.

Sharks are currently 14th on the log with 22 points and will be aiming to collect more points as they seek to pull away from the relegation zone.

Tusker, on the other hand, are ninth with 31 points and will be keen to secure victory to climb further up the table and build on the momentum gained from their recent win over Murang’a Seal.

Assistant coach Antony Kimani has noted steady improvement in the team and expects an even better performance against Sharks.

“We intend to build on the win against Seal where we had a decent performance and picked up three points,” said Kimani.

“The performances have been encouraging even when results did not go our way. The team has been playing well. We have seen composure and growing confidence,” he added.

His sentiments were echoed by striker Erick Kapaito, who expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness.

“The morale in camp is high, especially after the win in our last match. We are ready and prepared to take the three points, which will be very important for the team,” said Kapaito.

Bidco United vs Ulinzi Stars

Bidco United will host Ulinzi Stars at Wang’uru Stadium from 1400 hrs in what promises to be a high-octane relegation battle.

Both sides are battling near the bottom of the table. Bidco sit second from bottom, while Ulinzi are 15th with 19 points, the same tally as APS Bomet in the relegation zone.

The Oilers head into the match on a dismal run, currently enduring a 17-match winless streak, the longest in the league this season.

The military men are also struggling, with a seven-match winless run that includes four defeats. A win for either side would provide a significant boost in their fight for survival.

Mara Sugar vs Sofapaka

Mara Sugar will lock horns with bottom-placed Sofapaka at Awendo Green Stadium from 1400 hrs.

Mara sit 12th on the log with 25 points and will be looking to improve their standing at the expense of Sofapaka, who must secure maximum points to enhance their survival hopes.
