Winners of each competition will now pocket an additional Ksh 258,400,000 ($2 million).
The move continues CAF President Patrice Motsepe’s pledge to increase investment in African club football, a promise he made early in his tenure.
Under Motsepe, spending on prize money and logistical support in the Champions League alone now exceeds what CAF previously allocated to both competitions combined.
Under the new structure, the Champions League winners will receive Ksh775,200,000 ($6 million), while the Confederation Cup champions will pocket Ksh 516,800,000 ($4 million). Prize money for runners-up and other placings remains unchanged.
When Motsepe took office in March 2021, Champions League winners earned $2.5 million, and Confederation Cup champions banked $1.25 million.
CAF has also introduced grants for teams eliminated in the preliminary rounds, initially $50,000 in the 2024/25 season, now increased to $100,000 for 2025/26, to offset the high travel costs faced by clubs across the continent.
This season, a record 130 clubs participated across both competitions.
Kenyan clubs Kenya Police FC and Nairobi United each received approximately $100,000 (around Ksh 12.9-13 million) as participation fees.
Nairobi United later earned at least $400,000 (KSh 51.6 million) for reaching the Confederation Cup group stages.
The quarter-finals for both competitions are set to take place this weekend.
