Mushindi, who made headlines during the 2024 school games for his composure under pressure and exceptional ability to scan the field, completed his move earlier this week and became the third Kenyan to join the club.
He follows in the footsteps of Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Vice President McDonald Mariga and Stanley Wilson.
Wilson, who recently arrived at Enköping on loan from top-flight side AIK, was unveiled at the beginning of the week, adding to the Kenyan presence at the club.
The 19-year-old central midfielder joined Enköping on Monday and has already taken part in training sessions with his new teammates after a brief period of solo conditioning.
His move was facilitated by the 1914 agency, the same group that has been instrumental in connecting Kenyan talents with European opportunities.
In an interview published on the club’s website, Mushindi spoke openly about his aspirations, expressing gratitude for the chance to play in Sweden while outlining his long-term ambitions.
"My big dream in football is to take a place in my favourite team, Manchester United. Yes, then I would be very happy,” Mushindi said.
“But now I will first and foremost do well here in Enköping. Then we will see what is enough.”
Mushindi’s football journey draws parallels with that of Mariga, who also started his European career at Enköping in the early 2000s before earning a move to Helsingborg in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
From there, Mariga caught the attention of Italian side Parma and later joined Inter Milan, where he famously won the UEFA Champions League in 2010.
Although the two have not yet spoken about the move, Mushindi is keen to follow in Mariga’s footsteps and establish himself as a player capable of breaking into top European leagues.
“No, we haven’t spoken, but I know he played here and enjoyed it,” he added.
Mushindi’s strengths lie in his ability to control tempo, navigate tight spaces, and distribute the ball efficiently from midfield.
However, his transition to the European game will require adjustment to its physical demands and tactical discipline, elements he is already working on under the guidance of the Enköping technical bench.
The midfielder has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract and could make his competitive debut this Sunday when Enköping face Vasalund away in Match Day 20 of the Swedish Division 1.
