The two Kenyans registered mixed bag results on Thursday night.

Kenyan right back Daniel Anyembe and Joshua Nyatini were handed starts by Viborg FF and Tanzania Prisons respectively as the two compatriots suffered mixed fortunes.

Daniel Anyembe

The Kenyan defender was handed a start as his Viborg side claimed a memorable 3-1 win over Midtjylland in the Danish Super League.

Anyembe’s side had a feisty start to the game as they took only 14 minutes to open the scoring through Mads Sondergaard Clausen.

Still reeling after letting in the opener early on, Midtjylland shipped in the second of the clash when Nicolas Burgy netted his first goal of the season.

Viborg did not relent as they continued to press their foot on the gas and got their third six minutes after the half hour mark courtesy of Nigerian forward Ibrahim Said.

Midtjylland had a contrasting start to the second half as they pulled one back in the 53rd minute through Gustav Isaksen who was introduced at the start of the closing half.

The goal only turned out to be the consolation goal as Viborg held on for the 3-1 win to extend their unbeaten run to 12 games in all competitions.

Joshua Nyatini

The former Posta Rangers FC midfielder was trusted with a start as his Tanzania Prisons suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Coastal Union in the Tanzanian Premier League.

It only took five minutes for Coastal Union to open the scoring through Maabad Maulid whose header cannoned off the crossbar and into the net.

At the stroke of the hour mark, Union doubled their lead through Hamad Majimengi as Prisons who are under the tutelage of Kenyan head coach Patrick Odhiambo suffered a 2-0 loss.

Former Wazito FC midfielder Amos Asembeka was not included in the match day squad by Prisons.
