While he is being criticized for his outburst, there are others who support Salah
Liverpool is on fire. Not only the Reds are playing poorly for weeks now, but the dressing room is now in shambles as their best player went publicly in his criticism of the manager and the club. In a shocking statement to the media after a last minute goal vs Leeds (3-3), Mohamed Salah accused somebody from the club which wants him out, expressed his disbelief of being left on the bench for the third straight time and confirmed he has no relationship with under-fire coach Arne Slot. After the initial shock, it is expected that the club will react soon and resolve this situation one way or another, but reactions just keep coming. Mostly are negative, as various former players think that Salah acted hastily and that nobody is bigger than the club, but there are those who agree with the Egyptian forward.
One of them is former Chelsea captain John Terry who posted a video on TikTok where he walk in the snow in some mountain resort while explaining:
"I think he'd be the first one to say he's been out of form this season, but I have to agree with him as well. I think he has been made a scapegoat a little bit".
🗣️ @GaryLineker: "I think Mo's right in what he says, but to do it publicly was a little unwise."

🗣️ @AlanShearer: "Salah has been unbelievable for Liverpool, but the bigger picture is the club and no one is bigger than the club."

Salah also got support from his native county. Taking to Instagram, Egypt manager Hossam Hassan posted a picture of himself and Salah with the caption: 'Always a symbol of determination and strength'. Ahmed Hassan plays for Al-Ettifaq and is Salah‘s international teammate. He posted a rather long explanation on the X platform where he gives full support to his Pharaoh teammate.
"As footballers, when we get benched, we feel it, deeply sadness, frustration, even a bit of depression. But we wait for that moment to come on, to make an impact, to show the coach why we deserve to start. That’s the reality for most of us. But Mo Salah isn’t 'most of us'. Mo is in a different category like Cristiano and Messi. Players like that don’t get benched. And if, for any reason, they start on the bench, you must make sure they’re the first to come on, 60 minutes, 65 minutes maximum… not 'not even coming in'. That’s just disrespectful to everything he’s done for the club. Mo is not just a team-mate, he’s a brother, a leader, and a legend for club and country. Brother, every situation in life is temporary. Moments like this pass. What stays is your greatness and your response" he wrote.
