The two sides met in last season’s Mozzart Bet Cup, where Nairobi United defeated Homeboyz 2–0
Kakamega Homeboyz will host Nairobi United on Saturday, 11 October, in a rescheduled FKF Premier League fixture at Bukhungu Stadium.
The two sides will be meeting for the first time in a league match, marking their third outings of the 2025/26 season, which kicked off in September.

The fixture was initially slated for Sunday, 21 September, but was postponed to allow Nairobi United to honour their CAF Confederation Cup commitments against Uganda’s NEC FC, a tie they won on the away goals rule after a 3–3 aggregate draw to proceed to the 2nd preliminary round.
This weekend’s clash will, however, not be the first time the two sides have crossed paths.
They previously met in last season’s Mozzart Bet Cup, where Nairobi United defeated Homeboyz 2–0, eliminating the 2023 champions on their way to lifting the title after edging Gor Mahia 2–1 in the final.
Heading into the tie, Homeboyz, now under the guidance of their 2023 Cup-winning tactician Patrick Odhiambo, will be aiming to record their second successive win of the season.

The Kakamega-based side earned their first victory of the campaign with a 1–0 win over Sofapaka on October 3 at Dandora Stadium, following an opening-day goalless draw away to Mara Sugar in Awendo.
However, Odhiambo’s men will face a stern test against a familiar adversary in Nicholas Muyoti, who has historically proven difficult to beat since parting ways with Homeboyz in 2022.
Muyoti has lost only once against his former employers, a record that adds an extra edge to the contest.
Nairobi United have had a mixed start to their campaign, opening with a 1–0 victory over Mara Sugar, before falling 1–0 to Bidco United last weekend.
Under Muyoti’s stewardship, United will be eager to bounce back from that setback and return to winning ways.

Homeboyz, on the other hand, will be banking on their formidable home record and the backing of their fans to stretch their unbeaten run to three matches.
A win for Homeboyz will take them to seven points, moving them joint top with early league pace-setters Shabana and Posta Rangers, while Nairobi United will be looking to avoid successive defeats and remain within touching distance of the top bracket.
With both sides motivated by early-season ambitions and recent history adding spice to the fixture, an intense and entertaining encounter awaits at Bukhungu , which marks the return of top-flight action there after being closed for over a year due to renovation works.
